Glenn Beck Performs Miracle: Makes Larry King Appear Credible

July 22, 2008 · Filed Under Media, Michael Savage

What is the difference between the following three events?

1. Parting of the Red Sea.

2. Walking on water.

3. Cerebral audiences longing for Larry King.

Answer: Number three is a miracle.

Monday night, CNN audiences were treated to radio and Headline News’ far right wing talk show host, Glenn Beck, sitting in for Larry King.

What? They couldn’t get Michael Savage? No. They actually did. Dr. Autism Kids Are Just Brats Savage was booked as a guest.

What? They couldn’t get Adolf Hitler? No. They actually did. Well, no they didn’t, but I’m sure that was because Hitler’s corpse was unavailable, which isn’t the same for most of the other corpses King books as guests.

Glenn Beck interviewing Michael Savage might normally have been the classic segment, but that was nuthin’ compared to the show’s first segment where Glenn moderated - with almost nil moderation - a political panel where his guests’ comments were met with classic Beck talker sophistication: constant interruptions, rolling eyes, sarcastic snickers and completely groundless claims by the host - Did you know that Abraham Lincoln was not a good speaker?

There was a difference between Beck’s standard controlling format as the incredulous guests were constantly correcting Beck’s comments.

The Savage segment, at first another opportunity for Savage to rationalize - I would say “bull shit” but decorum doesn’t allow - his remarks with the completely uninformed Beck ill-equipped to counter Savage on his actual commentary.

The two doctors who followed, were also privy to Beck’s genius - Did you know that medication is used to treat Autism?

Today, Glenn Beck will go back to the millions who hang on his every word, but like Savage, perhaps after his Larry King showcase, there will be more who hadn’t known him before who will understand that this is a talent that is better off unknown.

    Poor Ted Turner.

He must be turning over in the grave he created for CNN by selling it out to idiot corporate interests that know less than nothing about honest broadcasting.

Does anyone know where I can find the video of this show? I checked CNN.com to no avail.

    Thanks

Just as Jamal Simmons was about to open up a can of whup ass on the Beck(man) last night who bails the Beck(man) out; glen beck hisself. I cannot believe how utterly pathetic, morally bankrupt, these mental midgets are. These fuckers are not even trying to hide their disdain for Obama, and I am an independent. Larry, if this is the best you can do when you go on vacation, do us all a favor; just cancel the show until you return. Not that I will watch, but geese….

This was beyond awful. I enjoy watching Larry King. He is unpartisant, yes sometimes fluffy, which is something I appreciate at times. Beck was horrendous. His unfounded accusations and moral banruptcy disgusted me and I had to change the channel in the first 15 minutes. He needs to stay on his show with his hateful audience, at least they would have to be if they appreicate his negative and outrageous opinions. What was the Larry King show thinking????

Glenn is a truly wonderful man. His story-telling and delivery are unmatched. About time CNN started listening to America and put the right people on their network!

I’ve become quite expert at instantly switching TV Channels with my Remote Control, thanks to the penchant for Cable TV News networks to inflict the likes of Glenn Beck & his ilk on viewers! Monday nite, was a quick draw McGraw flick AWAY from CNN, after I saw BECK was on. Tuesday nite, Larry King’s guest hostess was JOY BEHAR, who I happen to really enjoy, so I stayed to watch becuz I knew she’s be worth watching (Unlike “THe VIEW” a Godawful show which I fail to understand why my fellow Womankind, like to watch — kindof like my puzzlement over why Women (and some Men!) like “Soap Operas”!

Larry King himself is WAAY over the Hill, past time for him to RETIRE already. The guy is on his 7th WIFE, looks totally ridiculous when CNN tries to make him look “COOL” & book Rock Bands on his show, & seems increasingly approaching senile “What, where’s my buttermilk?” stage… much like the Republican Presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain, in fact! They BOTH need to retire to the Senior Citizens shuffleboard court, & let someone else have a turn!

What is CNN thinking substituting Beck for Larry? They might as well have substituted a potted plant, but at least the plant would have perhaps contributed a sense of serenity. Beck’s only contribution to any discussion is exasperating ignorance and a consistent incapacity to be educated on any subject. I weep for the state of journalism in this country, when perpetually empty vessels such as Glenn Beck are given such prominent venues as Larry King’s show.

Glenn Beck, what a breath of fresh air not like steve young(not the hall of famer)but this left wing looney. I wished they will replaced Larry King with Glenn Beck , so I can watch Glenn tear the looneys on the left. The leftist are getting worried that they would loose CNN to the right wingers. Imagine the right taking over the news and the radio. If you didn’t know the The New York times is slowly going out of business . I want to celebrate.

    Dear 1PissedOffLady,

“Poor Ted Turner” isn’t turning in his grave; he’s still alive & residing in Atlanta!

Glenn did a superb job. The extreme left need their feathers ruffled every now and then.
