Obama Targets McCain Family Vote

October 27, 2008 · Filed Under 2008 Election, Barack Obama, John McCain, Kind of Satire

With Barack Obama having locked down the traditional blue states and already having ventured into formerly secure GOP states like Virginia, Ohio, and Florida - even making inroads into longtime solid Republican fortresses like Mississippi and Kentucky - he is now hitting the home stretch pulling out all stops by moving into territory no Democrat has ventured into before…

John McCain’s family.

The McCain family, a clan that twice sided with President Bush, is on the radar for the Obama campaign as the race for the presidency whirls into its final days. The Democratic contender could significantly boost his chances of nailing down the magic number for victory - 270 electoral votes - if he could secure the McCain family. As of last night, polls give McCain a slight lead over Barack Obama, but steadily losing ground in his own family, in the all important McCain family dynamic.

“The McCain family has always looked at themselves as mavericks,” said Obama/Biden spokesman, David Wade. “What better way for John, Cindy and the rest of the McCains to show every American just how pro-American maverciky they are.”

Already in the Obama fold is John’s younger brother Joe, who dropped out of big brother’s campaign and hopes to handle emergency phones at Obama/Biden headquarters.

“They actually made it pretty f***’n easy for me,” said Joe McCain. “They just asked me if I was f***’n better off now than I was f***’n eight years ago. I’m wasn’t even better off than I was f***’n yesterday.”

Traditionally, the McCain family has gone for Republicans in presidential races, but Obama hopes to change that with rallies in six different McCain homes this week with Obama expected to outdraw John McCain’s rallies held at most of his houses.

“It’s not that we’re getting overconfident or even selfish,” said Wade. “it’s just that we pretty much have most every other segment of the country locked up. We needed something to do until next Tuesday.”

The McCain Campaign issued a statement saying, “Just get those damn Obama kids off my lawn or I’ll put a switch to ‘em.”

Developing.
