Filling The Hot Spot At MSNBC

With an east coast evening lineup presently at 50% repeat level - Matthews (rerun), Olbermann, Maddow, Olbermann (rerun) - the suits at the General Electric’s cable baby have finally decided to stick in a bit of originality right behind Ms Maddow. The big drinking game around the MSNBC Superbowl Party centered around who (or what?) should anchor the 10-11 slot at the Big M.

My vote has always been for an out and out comedy, taking a 3000 Mystery Science Theater approach to the O’Reilly Factor. Then again, perhaps just running the no-spinster with no modification would be zanier. The truth is funnier than fiction approach. Then again, Olbermann already does that with all the Lords of Loud.

Hannity and (Stephanie) Miller? Why Not?

The biggest question on the Fox News poll front isn’t “How many ways do you think the economic disaster is Obama’s fault?” That’s second. Now that Alan Colmes has vacated his seat on Fox’s Hannity & Colmes, the leading poll is “Who should replace Alan Colmes on Hannity & Colmes?”
The first thought that comes to mind is someone with the last name of Colmes. Saves a bunch money on changing all that expensive letterhead and Fox graphics. Alan’s wife, Jocelyn, comes to mind, but I suspect she far too busy with helping Alan haul home all the death threats from liberals that he stores at the Fox News warehouse.
Jon Stewart ain’t gonna happen. The money has been on a number of other Fox libs, including Bob Beckel and Kirstie Powers. KABC Doug McIntyre and Prof. Marc Hill wouldn’t be bad at all.  Confidentially, while my  impartial choice would be this column’s writer, my second choice would be the one I actually believe to be perfect…Jones Radio syndicated talker, Stephanie Miller.
