Under Obama’s Tax Plan Palin’s Clothes Would Receive A Tax Cut

…and Other Headlines On RNC’s Purchase of Palin’s Clothes From Neiman Marcus that are making it way too easy to write satire.

News Item: Since her selection as John McCain’s running mate, the Republican National Committee spent more than $150,000 on clothing and make-up for Gov. Sarah Palin, her husband, and her kids.

I think it’s just not fair.  Satire writers spend all day trying to come up with something fairly clever, then Sarah Palin shows up, and now even the most amateur of satirists think they’re Jonathan Swift. 

I mean, the McCain campaign spends a bundle trying to build up Palin as your everyday, all-American hockey mom, then they spend more money than most NHL hockey players can afford, I’m guessing to make her look like a everyday, all-American hockey mom.

The possibilites are so obvious on this one that anyone worth their satire membership card would let it go by based on the Yogi Berra-like rationale that “no would would write about it because everyone’s going to write about it.”  In effect, it writes itself.   

As it is, I too will bow out on this one ‘cept for the headline above.  Instead I’m going to allow you to write the jokes.  So not to leave you out on the perch alone, here’s some headlines to get you started.

    So let me get this straight, you all are upset that Palin gets a clothing allowance and spends 150,000 of the RNC’s money? wait, hold up, did I hear this right. If its not money you invested in the first place what do you care? I am sure Hillary and her pantsuits where free, and Obama wears suits from Kmart. find some real news to report on

    Cody Deeds and the rest of you who act like little school boys when around Palin, this IS news for a person who calls Barack Obama an elitist. So to be an elitist Obama would have to spend what Cody, $250,000 a month on clothes? Cody, did you ever slam John Edwards for his paltry $400 haircut? Are you a hypocrite?

    People are upset because McCain took public funding, that’s why. It’s your money and your neighbor’s that she spent.
