West Hollywood Considers Ban On Sarah Palin Drag Queens

McCain Campaign Calls Ban Anti-American.  Attempt to “Squash Republican Vote”

In what should send female impersonators and gender benders falling off their 4″ heels and back to the costume drawing board for this coming October 31 dress fests, city officials in West Hollywood, CA are considering a last minute ban on gay parade and party goers posing as Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin.

“It’s not that we’re against dressing up as Sarah,” said West Hollywood mayor, Mayor Jeffrey Prang. “It’s just so tacky. It’s like thinking of impersonating Marilyn. There’s no challenge. Bangs, heavy rouge to build those high cheek bones and those awful glasses. Voila…you’re Sarah. We expect our residents to lead the way, not come up with something every drunk notary in Bakersfield will be wearing.”

While the rest of America’s optical and cosmetics shops ready extra stock in preparation for a Halloween run on Palin glasses and lipstick, the McCain campaign calls the West Hollywood ban an obvious attempt to squash the Republican vote in California.

“You’re not hearing them banning Joe Biden drag queens,” said Palin spokesman, Tucker Bounds. “Pro-American Halloweeners would never think of banning candidate look-alikes.  It’s clear that these guys are in bed with Obama.”

“Don’t we wish,” vamped long-forgotten Rupaul. “But nothing could be further from the truth. There’s also a ban on Manny Ramirez dredlocks and Barack Obama ears.”

The ban would go into effect just after the West Hollywood Annual Doggy Costume Contest.

“You want to dress up your Lhasa Apso as Sarah, fine,” said Prang, “But if that’s all you can think of, why not just go to a Halloween store in Kansas and buy a princess costume.”

“For Tallulah Bankhead’s sake, boys, let’s use our imagination,” mocked Richard Simmons. “We’re supposed to be gay, not Log Cabin Republicans.”

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT NOTE: THE MAYOR JEFFREY PRANG MENTIONED IN THIS LOVELY LITTLE PIECE IS NOT THE ACTUAL MAYOR JEFFREY PRANG, WHO HAS FAR MORE SENSE THAN PARTICIPATE IN THIS FOOLISHNESS. SATIRICAL OR NOT.

    Sooo then… the Republicans WANT drag queens dressing up like Palin? I find that HIGHLY unlikely. They would have screamed bloody murder if they had encouraged them dressing up like Palin. This is just a feeble attempt to be the victim no matter WHAT happens. They’re trying to play both sides and be the victim either way, and it’s really pathetic and an indication of just how desperate they are.

    I smell “desperate”.
    How utterly stupid is it to suggest that there should be “Biden drag queens”? Just like everything Republican this year, it’s seriously out of touch with “real America”. Anybody knows there’s no such thing as a “drag king”!

    Of course there’s such a thing as a drag king, nancy. Or, hang on, were you, too, joking? I’m a little tired today…but I’ve seen some amazing drag kings.

    It’s a great year for “hobo” - or FLDS sister-wife, my runner-up costume. But I will be going to a parade in Vermont as Dr. Dragan Dabic.

    How about a drag queen playing Biden playing a drag queen? No? Damn, I’d have loved to see old Joe doing an aging, worn out drag queen!

    This is socialism, pure and simple! In the REAL America, every little girl should have the right to grow up into a Sarah Palin drag queen. Just like the real Sarah did. This news is truly disturbing, especially since I have spent the last six weeks training my Vietnamese pot bellied pig not to lick off the lipstick. I may just vote for McCain because of this.
