You’re Doin’ A Heckuva Job, Selig

Ignoring any number of weather reports forecasting heavy rains, Major League Baseball commissioner, Bud Selig blamed city and state meteorologists for not acting sooner to forestall the World Series Game #5 debacle.

“No one expected the pitchers mound to be breached,” said Selig, despite documents showing that the Army Corps of Engineers questioned the field’s ability to tolerate the forecasted downpour.

Selig waited until after the Tampa Bay Rays had tied World Series game before he took action and by then conditions had deteriorated with vendors running low on hot dogs and beer leaving many fans sober and stranded at Citizens Bank Field.

“Bud Selig doesn’t care about Phillies fans,” said singer Kanye West during a benefit concert for the fans who had waited for 25 years for another Philadelphia championship.

There were those who did see a positive side.
“A lot of these underprivileged fans have never been able to see a half of a World Series game before,” said former First Lady, Barbara Bush, who visited fans stranded at the game, “so this is working out very well for them.”
Syndicated talker, Sean Hannity, put the blame for the horrid traffic congestion outside the stadium squarely on the shoulders of Phildelphia Mayor Nutter
“What about the buses?” asked Hannity.
But it was Philadelphia sports radio WIP’s Howard Eskin who, as always, put it all in perspective.

“The rain is a dope.”
Developing.
